All personal physical mail such as letters, pictures, and drawings are now scanned and electronically delivered directly to the inmate. All personal mail must now be addressed as follows:

John Smith #11111 (change the name and inmate number to the person you’re sending it to)
P.O. Box 247
Phoenix, MD 21131

(Change only the inmate name and A# highlighted in the address above. The Phoenix, MD P.O. box is correct – it is the mail processing facility).

IMPORTANT: To ensure your mail gets delivered electronically, include the exact form above. You must provide:

• Complete facility name (no abbreviations) and state (two letter abbreviation)
• Inmate's full name and A-number
• Sender's full name and physical address in the top left corner of the envelope
• ONLY send personal mail such as letters, pictures, and drawings

Legal Mail

DO NOT send attorney / client privileged mail to the new (Phoenix, MD) address. Attorney/client mail may be sent directly to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office as has been done in the past.
