HCS Laboratory

Environmental Health has updated daily hours. Open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Closed 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

The Kalamazoo County HCS Laboratory provides testing services for HCS programs including drinking water, well water, surface water (beaches, rivers, lakes, etc.) testing and clinical testing for HCS clinics.

The laboratory also provides testing services for private well owners and businesses who have their own wells (Type I, Type II etc.) including tests for Nitrate, Coliform bacteria and E. coli.

Certificates

The KCHCS Laboratory is certified by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy for water testing and by CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) for all clinical testing. Water Testing Services

The KCHCS Laboratory tests samples for Nitrate, Coliform Bacteria and E. coli from wells owned by private homeowners and from some businesses which have their own wells (Type I, Type II, etc.).

Testing supplies (bottles, requisition forms, etc.) are available at the KCHCS Laboratory and at some township offices including: Cooper, Texas, Schoolcraft, Oshtemo, Alamo, Kalamazoo, Comstock, Charleston, Pavilion, Climax, Brady.
